French fashion and music label Maison Kitsuné, after launching their first cafe in Tokyo last Febraruy, opened a second cafe here in Paris just two days ago, right amidst the frenzy of Fashion Week. This intimate, standing room-only space nestles inside the arcades of Palais Royal, its ultra clean and modern design contrasting drastically with the neighboring classical architecture. Interesting.
The concise menu offers premium London-roasted coffee, tea, juices from Bob’s Juice Bar, and gluten-free pastries and cakes from Noglu.
Espresso (€2.50) and latte (€4.20).
Kitsuné’s website claims that the cafe “offers the opportunity to…engage with Maison Kitsuné in a whole new way”, and that it “cleverly aligns fashion, music, design and lifestyle.” From this initial visit, I can’t yet see how this cafe is supposed to do all that as it seems not very different from a regular coffee bar (other than the sleek design), but perhaps that’s because it’s a only a few days into operation. Will come back to rediscover. P.S. The water here is cucumber-flavored :)
