While I can hardly consider leaving the comfort of Shanghai and moving to Beijing – the traffic, the sandstorms, the climate, just to name a few downsides I can think of – I do love the capital of China for its vibrant cultural activities. Sure, in Shanghai we have M50 or 1933, but nothing quite compares to Beijing’s 798 Art Zone, a thriving artist community spread out among 50-year-old decommissioned military factory buildings. Large scale art installations, dramatic sculptures, unique architecture…the pictures below speak for themselves.
This is something not to be missed when visiting Beijing. How to get there? Just hop on a taxi, the driver will most definitely know his way to 798.
I absolutely love 798 – artsy areas are a lot of fun :)
Yup :) wish there’s one in sh!
