Velvety, slightly gooey egg custard nestled inside crumbly, fragrant shortcrust…just glide one of these divine egg tarts down and you’ll know exactly why everyone loves Tai Cheong Bakery so much.
Tai Cheong specializes in shortcrust pastry (instead of puff pastry), and supposedly use almond powder instead of regular flower to give the crust an amazing fragrance especially when served warm.
I tell myself that next time I’ll save room for Tai Cheong’s other freshly-baked delicacies, but I have a feeling that I’ll just end up devouring a few more of these bitesize bliss…
We tried Tai Cheong pastries last week and were extremely impressed! The shortbread is sooo friable.

We had egg tarts from two different locations of Tai Cheong Bakery in HK, and they tasted fantastic. I refuse to eat the ones sold in NYC from now on hahaha.
