Following the post on Craft Inn’s indigo room, here is a quick one to give you a tour of The Washi Room, where we stayed at during our second night in Yame.

The washi room occupies a renovated warehouse of two floors, its original structure is estimated to have been built in the mid-1800s. “Washi” means Japanese paper, and the entire space is adorned with different washi paper art – washi wood prints by Toshiyuki Kuratomi, washi infused with rope from the original structure’s earthen walls made by Nao Tesuki Washi, etc.
和紙房由一幢獨立的雙層老屋所改造，最原始的建築似乎是19世紀中期就蓋好的，相當有歷史。顧名思義，和紙房裡有許多和紙的元素，比如 Toshiyuki Kuratomi 的和紙木板畫、Nao Tesuki Washi 的和紙藝術，等。
On the first floor, there is an entire bookshelf of books curated around crafts. One can easily spend an entire day indoor browsing through these!
一樓起居室的整面牆都由書架組成，上面擺放著各種跟日本工藝、藝術相關的書籍。若時間充裕，能在這裡待上好一陣子慢慢翻書，細細品味。

The bathroom is similar in setup as the one in the indigo room. It was certainly lovely to be able to enjoy another good soak in this beautiful cedar wood bathtub.
浴室的配置跟藍染房大同小異，能在散發著木質香氣的雪松浴缸裡再泡一次澡，令人開心。

從二樓往下看的樣貌。
Bedroom is located on the second floor, with comfortable futons (布団, a traditional Japanese style of bedding), and relaxing lighting diffusing softly through washi paper lamp shades.
臥室再二樓，墊高的地板上直接鋪上厚實的日式床墊。床頭燈的燈罩由和紙製成，散發出的光芒柔和溫潤。
Breakfast is also delivered to the room in the morning, but contrary to the wooden buckets used in the indigo room, here it is presented in in dainty little bento boxes. These were also nice, but I have to say the wooden buckets made more of an impression!
第二天的早餐裝在便當盒裡，由服務人員送到房內。也很不錯，不過個人覺得藍染房的木盆早餐更讓人眼睛一亮，更有豐盛感呢。
All the cups and utensils in the washi room are meticulously selected as well. Very conveniently, the washi room is located behind the Unagi no Nedoko store, where you can find a large selection of objects used in Craft Inn.
和紙房內所之用的各種備品也都是從九州各地精挑細選而來的產品，而且大部分都能在隔壁 Unagi no Nedoko 商店買到喔。

Update: Note: The Washi Room will be closing its operations at the end of December 2023, and currently bookings are accepted for a plan without breakfast. For the remaining months, accommodation rates have been reduced to 17,200 yen per person (for two adults in one room on weekdays).
