Frenchie Bar à Vins is always a good choice when you are looking for something casual and delicious, given that you can arrive before 7pm to snatch a seat (no reservation). Here are some snapshots from a recent visit.
Burrata, peche, basilic pourpre, balsamique (€16), burrata with peach, purple basil, and balsamic.
Tortellini a la ricotta, petit pois, beurre noisette (€14), ricotta tortellini with peas and brown butter.
Salade d’aile de raie, chou pointu, capres (€12), skate wing fish salad with hispi cabbage and capers.
Papardelle, ragouts de lapin, citron confit, olives Kalamata (€14), papperdelle with rabbit ragu, lemon confit, and Kalamata olives.
Lieu jaune, petits pois, pamplemousse (€16), pollock with peas and grapefruit.
Veau, asperges blanches, jaune d’oeuf fume, fromage Gwell (€17), veal with white asparagus, smoked egg yolk, and Gwell cheese.
Pulled pork sandwich (palette de cochon fumee, sauce BBQ) (€14), pulled pork sandwich with smoked pork butt and BBQ sauce.
My favorites were the skate wing fish salad and the ricotta tortellini, though really everything else on our table was very lovely. Here are also some snapshots from a previous visit, and my favorite from this meal was by far the foie gras royal. There’s Greg Marchand himself in the kitchen.
Legumes crus d’Olivier Durand, condiments, anchois fumee (€9), raw vegetables from Olivier Durand, with condiments and smoked anchovy cream.
Royale de foie gras, chutney pomme poire, noix (€14), foie gras royal with apple pear chutney and walnuts.
Burrata, champignons marines (€12), burrata with marinated mushrooms.
Reuben’s sandwich (pastrami, keen’s cheddar, coleslaw) (€12).
Saucisse de boeeuf fumee, lentilles, cranberry (€14), smoked beef sausage with lentils and cranberry.
Tortellini ricotta, butternut, sauge, biscuit amaretti (€12), ricotta butternut squash tortellini with sage and amaretti biscuit.
Caille, puree de pomme de terre, topinambour, truffe noire (€18), quail with mashed potato, Jerusalem artichoke, and black truffle.
Panacotta, avocat, chocolat (€9), pana cotta with avocado and chocolate crumbs.
Tarte au citron sicilien, glace aux herbes (€10), Sicilian lemon tart with herb ice-cream.
Of course not without a glass or two of wine.
Dinner at Frenchie Bar a Vins usually turns out to be around €30 per person, and the food rarely disappoints. A place to come back to.

This looks absolutely mouthwatering! cool blog!
Thanks for this review! I’ll be visiting this place in September when I visit Paris. Are the dishes meant for sharing or are they not particularly supposed to? I ask this since I’m going with a friend, who is not into fish that much. How many dishes would you recommend to eat, a person, for a full meal? Thanks!! :)
