After a delightful lunch at Caillebotte, we strolled along to the pastry boutique of Sebastien Gaudard for some afternoon sweets.
Raise your hand if you also think this looks like a face.
Eclair Marron (€3.90). The chestnut cream was not bad, but the pâte à choux was too dry for me.
Entremet chocolat orange (€5.10), composed of almond biscuit soaked in Grand Marnier, chocolate cream, and orange bits. Loved the nuts around the entremet for extra texture, though it would be nice if the orange flavor was more pronounced.
And of course, my favorite tarte au citron (€4.50). Just perfect!
On a side note, they now allow guests to take (two to three) photos inside the boutique. Gasp!
No way! When I went the staff was so mean about taking pictures.
I think they only recently started to let people take photos inside the shop, but if you start taking too many they still do remind you not to do so…
Haha so funny the new ruling
This is such a strict joint
Pastry shops should be FUN not a scary visit to police headquarters.
Why? What are they guarding here?
But I’ll walk a mile for a tarte citron…soon as I can walk again!
