A charming little cafe hidden deep inside the courtyard of a 6th arrondissement building, right near Boulevard Saint-Germain. It’s run by South Carolina native Laurel Sanderson, and needless to say that the menu is filled with homey Southern comfort food, albeit in lighter and healthier versions. Buttermilk biscuits, homemade savory pies, (not fried) fried chicken, fresh salads…a nice spot for lunch.
“French Toast Biscuits and Chicken” (€15), not fried fried chicken and French toast style biscuits, served with apples and house honey syrup.
“Curried Veggie Pie” (€13 with green salad or €15 with quinoa salad) – roasted cauliflower, apples, peas, and sometimes potatoes in curry sauce.
Both dishes were quite nice and tasted very homemade indeed. Didn’t try the carrot cake this time but apparently that’s one of Laurel’s signatures. Saving that for my next visit.
