Literally “Palace of Shining Happiness”, Gyeongbokgung is a royal palace located in northern Seoul. First constructed in 1394 and reconstructed in 1867, this was the main and largest palace of the Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon Dynasty.
If you were to visit any palace in Seoul, Gyeongbokgung should (at least according to my guidebook) definitely be one of your stops. Just hop on subway line 3 and get off at Gyeongbokgung station, easy enough.
Beautiful pictures. When I was there, it was snowy and icy.
Yes I was lucky to have gone in may when the weather was perfect!
