Attracted to Andaz Tokyo’s sleek design and stunning views of the city skyline, I’ve been eyeing this hotel since it opened back in June 2014…and finally had a chance to stay there on a recent trip to Tokyo. The hotel sits on the top six floors of the 52-story Toranomon Hills skyscraper, located between Tokyo Tower and the Imperial Palace. It’s not far from Ginza and is just a 5-minute walk from the nearest metro, making it quite convenient especially for business and leisure travelers alike.
東京虎之門丘安達仕酒店在2014年6月開幕時，我就被它的漂亮設計以及能遠眺東京鐵塔的無敵夜景給吸引了，最近一次去東京終於有機會入住。先來看看地點：在東京鐵塔以及皇居中間的虎之門丘Toranomon Hills最高6層樓，最靠近的地鐵走路5-10分鐘可到達，對商業旅客或遊客來說都算方便。
As you might already know, Andaz is the luxury lifestyle hotel subsidiary of the Hyatt group known for integrating local elements into a hotel’s décor, and this theme is apparent right when one steps into the Tokyo Andaz lobby on the 51st floor. Designed by Tony Chi of New York and the Tokyo-based Shinichiro Ogata from SIMPLICITY (who, incidentally, is also the founder of one of my favorite spaces in Tokyo – Yakumo Saryo), Andaz Tokyo incorporates Japanese elements such as washi paper and walnut wood throughout the space.
安達仕是Hyatt集團旗下的奢華生活方式酒店品牌，著重於將當地文化融入設計之中。這份用心在踏入東京安達仕52樓大堂的那一刻就可以感受到 – 由紐約設計師Tony Chi以及日本SIMPLICITY的緒方慎一郎共同設計的空間裡融入了日本特有的和紙、當地產的胡桃木等材質，讓客人瞬間體會到在地文化的魅力。（順帶一提，我非常愛的八雲茶寮也是緒方慎一郎設計的。）
For check-in, I was seated at the Andaz Lounge instead of standing at the reception, a small but nice detail to make one feel extra at ease and relaxed. The tranquil space also offers 24-hour refreshments and complimentary evening wines and cocktails from 6-8pm for hotel guests.
很貼心的一點是，在東京安達仕辦理入住手續時不用站在櫃檯，而是坐在舒服的lounge區域（雖然只是很小的細節，但卻足以讓輕鬆培增）。這個空間還有24小時提供的酒水服務，而且每天6-8pm都有免費提供給住客的葡萄酒以及調酒喲。
After a simple check-in process, I was led downstairs to my room on the 47th floor.
辦理完簡單快速的入住手續後，服務人員帶我到了47樓的房間。
There’s a total of 164 rooms (including 8 suites) at Andaz Tokyo, located on the 47-50th floors. Even the standard rooms average at 50 sqm, which is luxuriously spacious for a city where space is at an ultra premium.
東京安達仕總共有164個房間（包括8個套房），分布於47-50樓層。連最基礎的房型都有50平米，對寸土寸金的東京來說真是挺奢侈的。
The room decor is simple and classy – walnut wood, white walls, red leather chairs and headboards…nothing too crazy, but well-appointed and comfortable throughout.
房間內的裝飾簡單而優雅 – 深沈的胡桃木、柔和的白牆、深紅皮椅和床頭背板…沒有刻意搶人眼球的設計，一切都舒舒服服地。
One of my favorite features of the room is the deep circular soaking bath in the bathroom – a godsend for me after hours of delay on the plane!
房間裡最讓我喜歡的特徵之一是 – 又大又深的圓形浴缸！不論是剛從誤點很久的飛機下來，還是在東京街頭暴走一天後，有個舒服的浴缸來泡澡真是太重要了。
Alas this photo doesn’t quite show how large the bathtub is…I should’ve put a reference object.
可惜通過這張照片看不出浴缸的大小，應該要放個對比物才對。

At the mini bar, there’s a Nespresso machine for the coffee addicts, and all non-alcoholic drinks and snacks are complimentary.
房間裡的mini bar有Nespresso膠囊機，所有飲料和零嘴（酒類除外）都無需額外付費。
Along with the welcome amenity eclairs, one can practically have an afternoon tea session without leaving the room.
入住時還有招待的閃電泡芙，簡直可以在房間裡開個迷你下午茶派對了。
The hotel has rooms facing either the Imperial Palace/Tokyo Sky Tree or Tokyo Tower, and while both are lovely sights, I would recommend a room facing Tokyo Tower because there are currently lots of constructions happening on the Imperial Palace side in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
東京安達仕的房間有皇居/東京晴空塔以及東京鐵塔兩個view可以選擇，雖然兩個都不錯，不過最近都建議選擇東京鐵塔的方向，因為在2020東京奧運之前皇居那面有很多腳架，視野被阻擋了許多。
On another note, there’s a cell phone provided in the room which can be used for local calls free of charge, and also has a built-in Tokyo city guide in collaboration with Luxos.
順帶一提，每個房間裡都有提供手機，除了可以免費撥打當地電話之外，還有內建的Luxos東京指南。
Breakfast is served at the bright and airy Andaz Tavern, located on the same floor as the lobby. The buffet offers a selection of Japanese and Western options, while a la carte is also available.
早餐在明亮開闊的Andaz Tavern，和大堂一樣在52樓。有西式以及日式的自助餐，也有一些單點選項。
Something interesting that I noticed as I was walking out of the Andaz Tavern was this “snow aging beef” display. A staff explained that snow aging involves preserving food in a traditional snow cellar for 25 days to enhance flavors and textures, something I haven’t heard of before and would be interested in trying sometime…
在離開時還注意到一冰箱的 “雪室熟成牛肉”，聽工作人員解釋才知道是用傳統雪藏熟成25天的牛肉，風味和口感都特別出色，下次有機會的話再來嚐嚐吧。
It was unfortunate that my schedule was so packed during my two-night stay at Andaz Tokyo, so much so that I couldn’t enjoy some of the amazing amenities at the hotel, such as this beautiful pool over looking the Imperial Palace…
可惜我這次在東京的行程太過緊湊，住在安達仕的兩天都沒時間去享用這個可以眺望皇居的美麗游泳池。
As well as the AO Spa, which has a blend bar packed with green herbs, seasonal plants, fruits, spices and oils to be used by therapists to create bespoke scrubs for each guest.
還有可以用藥草、季節植物、水果等為客人訂製按摩精油的AO Spa。
It’s also worth mentioning that the treatment rooms are absolutely gorgeous, with sweeping views of Tokyo.
話說，Spa房間裡的這種居高臨下感也太棒了吧。
Despite the short and slightly rushed stay at Andaz Tokyo, I enjoyed the hotel for its spacious rooms, the sleek design, and the warm and welcoming service. To ensure the best experience, make sure you book the Tokyo Tower view room!
這次行程太趕讓我無法有充裕的時間好好享受東京安達仕，希望之後有機會再來悠閒地住一次。喜歡這裡（對東京來說特別）寬敞的房間、亮眼而舒適的實際、以及溫暖友好的服務。再次提醒，若想要好一點的體驗的話，請一定要訂面向東京鐵塔的房間喔。
