This rustic farm bakery near the Waterloo battlefield serves amazing quiches and fruit tarts. Perfect spot for breakfast or lunch.
Just looking at these fruit tarts and quiches made me very happy at heart.
The dining room, with its warm bucolic charm.
The broccoli & salmon quiche (€9.50) – smooth velvety custard with tender broccoli and salmon, all in a firm and slightly flaky crust. Soft, savory, irresistible. One of the best quiches I’ve ever had!
Farm omelette ($9.00) – this simple omelette with tomato and ham had a wonderful eggy aroma. It was slightly burned on the edges (as desired) but still tender on the inside. Excellent.
Did not try the onion soup ($7.50) but it looked dynamite.
A bottle of waterlootoise (€3.30), a local favorite.
Of course we ended the meal on a sweet note with these irresistible strawberry tarts (€4.75). Fragrant fresh strawberries, velvety custard cream, firm buttery crust. Perfect.
The breezy patio would be an ideal spot on a beautiful day (but beware of a slight but definitive smell of animal excrements…)
